Alla Rasskazova
Alla Rasskazova - Modern Botanical artist
I see botanical art not only as documentation, but as a form of quiet storytelling - one that invites the viewer to pause, notice, and reconnect with nature on a personal level.
I am a botanical artist working at the intersection of scientific observation and quiet emotion.
My work is inspired by wild and cultivated plants, coastal forms, and overlooked details of the natural world - stems, textures, folds, and transitions that often escape attention. Through watercolor and coloured pencils, I explore how nature carries memory, rhythm, and inner life.
Drawing is for me a way of slowing down and truly seeing. Each piece begins with close observation and develops into a visual study where accuracy and sensitivity exist side by side. I am especially interested in modest subjects - meadow plants, garden species, sea organisms - and the beauty hidden in their restraint.
My practice is shaped by travel, seasonal changes, and long periods of attentive looking. I work both on individual artworks and cohesive series, each developing its own visual language and atmosphere.
